JEFF SYLVESTER

CURRICULUM VITAE

Jeff Sylvester was born in Edmonton, Alberta where he currently lives and works. He was trained at Grant MacEwan in graphic design and has been working in the industry for the past nine years. During that time he has exhibited his paintings in a number of venues throughout Edmonton. Many of his paintings are in private collections across Canada.

“What I try to achieve is a sense familiarity. I want the viewer to look at a painting or an image within it and feel as though it relates directly to them. I try to hold a vague amount of nostalgia in the paintings through color and subject matter. The subjects being an eclectic mixture of people, places, and things. Generally light on the surface with an underlying deeper mood, some of them of a contemplative nature.”
